Mike Casey is the principal of Michael Casey & Associates; a national A.M. Best recommended consulting firm based in San Diego and Director of Education with Home Inspection University. Mike is past president of the California Real Estate Inspection Association (1994/1995) and of the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI) (2002). Mike is multi-code certified by the ICC and IAPMO. He is a licensed general, plumbing, and mechanical contractor in several states and a Virginia Licensed Home Inspector.

Besides coauthoring several books in the Code Check series and Code History Master, Michael has authored numerous other technical books, has taught home, and commercial building inspection nationwide and has an expert witness and claims consulting practice throughout North America since 1987. Mike has inspected over 10,000 buildings in his 37-year career in the inspection profession as well as been consultant or expert regarding hundreds of inspectors and other claims for both claimants and defendants.

Jimmy is a retired Navy SEAL Commander with over 22 years of service. He developed and teaches curriculums on combat leadership to all SEAL Chiefs and OICs and Combat Ethics to the Naval Special Warfare Community and the Navy JAG community. Commander May has seven deployments to the Middle East and has an array of awards including 3 Bronze Stars and the Purple Heart. He has experience working across the globe in high-stakes situations to find common ground across a wide array of conflict scenarios. He completed his undergraduate work at Texas A&M and post-graduation studies at Harvard as an alumni of the Program for Leadership Development.

Jimmy is CEO of Sushi Assassin, an in-home sushi catering business for private events and CEO of Mayday Executive Services to help companies develop camaraderie and unit cohesion through shared intense experiences. He serves as CEO and a board member of Beyond the Brotherhood, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping Navy SEALS of character transition from the Teams to the civilian sector and is sought after as a keynote speaker for events across a wide variety of organizations.

Jimmy is fluent in Arabic, an avid spear fisherman, surfer, martial artist and amateur beekeeper. He resides in Ocean Beach, San Diego with his family and prides himself on doing good things for good people.

Jon holds a BS in Building Construction from the University of Florida. He has been performing home inspections since 1998. Together with his wife, Bobbi Lynn, Jon co-owned a residential inspection company called Inspectagator and a commercial inspection firm, Monolith Building Inspections. He holds a BS in Building Construction from the University of Florida and has earned numerous certifications since 1998. An accomplished writer,

Jon has contributed articles to both local and national publications and authored "Tactical Real Estate Negotiator" for real estate investors. His expertise has been featured in various media, including the New York Times and Orlando Magazine, and he is a sought-after speaker across the nation. Additionally, Jon is the owner and director of Home Inspection University - Advanced, providing advanced training and continuing education for home inspectors.

Peter Hopkins has operated a successful multi inspector home inspection company since 1996 (www.inspecdoc.com) and has personally performed over 9000 property inspections. The company expanded into thermal imaging in 2005 with the opening of SoCal Infrared (www.socalinfrared.com) and has found success in many areas of diversification but more specifically recently on the ability to further identify sewer lateral problems normally excluded from the standard home inspection.  This additional service has led to a 25-30% increase in company revenue for his home inspection company.

Peter is the founding partner of United Infrared (www.UnitedInfrared.com), a national network of contract thermographers which includes application-specific training and business coaching in a multitude of applications related to building inspection technology. Peter is a Level III Certified Thermographer, ICC Code Certified Building Inspector, Certified HERS Energy Rater and Certified SewerScan Inspector. Peter lives in Southern California with his wife of 28 years and has two adult children.

Tessa has a Bachelor’s Degree in Building Science from the University of Minnesota and is a retired ASHI Certified Inspector (ACI). She has over 18 years of experience ranging from residential construction to home performance diagnostic testing. 
 

Tessa is a building scientist, home inspector and house coach who provides cost-effective, practical guidance for complex concerns. She loves solving problems and working with clients to create buildings that are safe, healthy, comfortable, durable and energy efficient.

Henry Sanders is a 2012 AHIT graduate and AHIT Instructor/Field trainer since 2021. He is the owner of Heartland Home Inspections with more than 2,000 inspections under his belt and serves Illinois. He has built a team of inspectors that are prepared, well trained, and certified to complete a variety of client’s home inspection needs.
 

He is an American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI) Certified Inspector, mentor, and instructor with New Construction and phase construction/pre-drywall certification. Hank is the Northern Illinois Chapter (NIC) ASHI President, Educational Director, and Vendor Relations Coordinator.

His certifications include Certified Residential Thermography (CRT), EMSL and ASHI indoor air quality and Mold Testing. Licensure stretching beyond his home state includes: NY, WI and IN.

Having many great successes as an AHIT Trained Professional, he is eager to share his successes to the next generation of the home inspection industry.

A strong background in framing / carpentry / construction and remodeling brings a variety of expertise to the classroom. His teaching philosophy is to instill professionalism and learning through the exchange of ideas, experience, and education. He strives to pass along the knowledge and practice of home inspection with preparation tips to build a successful business.

Bill Fabian is Vice President of Training for Monroe Infrared Technology. He has been involved in Infrared for over 30 years and is a Level III Thermographer. Bill has trained thousands of individuals in both the theory behind and the use of IR cameras for Predictive Maintenance and Building Diagnostics applications. He has extensive in-field experience working closely on Energy Performance with customers ranging from major high-rise buildings to commercial businesses to single-family homeowners.

Significant Accomplishments: Bill has completed IR Inspections on more than 20 million square feet of flat roof systems making him one of the foremost experts in the country today. Bill was instrumental in developing a practical water intrusion inspection methodology for today’s moisture remediation industry.

Kimberly McDonough holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from The College of Charleston. Kim has been a Technical Sales Representative for EMSL Analytical for just shy of a decade; providing expertise to the home inspection industry and bringing value to your business via environmental lab services like Mold, Lead, Asbestos, drinking water testing, etc.

EMSL Analytical is one of North America’s leading environmental laboratories. EMSL provides 11 divisions for analysis, a products/equipment department, training and just under 50 lab locations for your convenience.

Charles Bellefontaine is the President, and lobbyist of the Illinois Association of Home Inspectors. He has been a home inspector since 1993 and is also a Certified Master Inspector. He served as a Firefighter/Paramedic from 1980 to 2018 and held positions as an officer and director of ASHI.

He has been a principal at the Home Inspection University of Illinois since 2001. Bellefontaine hosts "The HomeBuyers Hour" radio show and owns Chicagoland Home Inspectors, Inc. which is a multi-inspector.

Travis Jones is the owner of Smart Roof & Home Performance in Dallas, TX, and one of the region’s few certified FORTIFIED roof installers. An RCAT-licensed contractor and national trainer for IKO’s CodePlus system, he teaches resilient roofing practices to contractors nationwide. Travis co-hosts BS & Beer (Building Science) and shares building performance insights on Instagram at @travisbuildsit.
